A unified interface for managers to add and remove apps on store devices, manage user permissions, and monitor compliance across 9,551 stores.
We designed a centralized console that empowers store managers to deploy and remove applications on handheld devices, control user access and permissions, and track compliance status — all from a single dashboard serving 9,551 retail locations.

2025The Challenge
Managing applications, user permissions, and compliance across 9,551 stores was fragmented across multiple legacy tools, creating delays, inconsistencies, and security gaps. Our goal was to design a single, intuitive console that gave managers full visibility and control over their store device ecosystem, streamlining app deployment, access management, and compliance monitoring into one cohesive experience.

Phase 01
Early in the process, we recognized that the original design was overcomplicating key workflows and burying critical actions behind unnecessary layers of navigation. We scrapped it entirely and approached the redesign with a fresh perspective, focused on making the core selections Brand Managers need: app deployment, store selection, and permissions, making them as basic and straightforward as possible to deliver a significantly smoother user experience.

Phase 02
Building from the validated wireframes, we created hi-fidelity mockups and pushed through many design iterations to land on a unified solution that gives Brand Managers clean, simple control over app distribution and user role assignments for store associates. The result was a streamlined workflow that reduced complexity at every step, making it effortless to manage which apps reach which devices in which locations and who has access to use them.

Impact
Research, wireframing, and hi-fidelity mockups led to a focused solution: a console that lets Brand Managers add and remove apps, select stores, and assign roles across 100+ applications, serving thousands of store associates at all 9,551 locations. A fragmented, error-prone process became centralized and intuitive, cutting onboarding time and giving managers confident control over their entire device ecosystem.
